Day 11

The sky was overcast, as if nature itself knew the end was near. The Mayor looked out from a balcony at the remaining four villagers gathered. He smiled briefly as he thought about the 21 dead villagers. Jeeves arrived on the balcony with a glass of red wine. "Thank you Jeeves." "Yes sir," the butler replied.

Down below the last of the villagers walked up. Where once had been a large crowd, now only four frigtened townsfolk remained. They looked around and realized that [info]devil_engine was missing from their numbers.

SUMMARY: [info]devil_engine the VILLAGER is DEAD!

I knew it. You bastards!

So, which of you is a wolf, and which is the sorcerer?
Let's not drag this out for 24 hours.

vote hungryandhollow, because I hate traitors!

I'm now certain I won't live past day one in the next game.

I am the remaining WEREWOLF.

vote lorriet

If my LOVER cambler votes with me, we guarantee at least a tie, and we have a lover's victory tonight.

I am the SORCERER.

vote lorriet

We now have both a lover's victory *AND* a wolf victory.

YOU'RE certain you won't live past Day One? I've been betraying the villagers for an entire game :P

Well, I had it backwards as to which of you was the wolf. I hate you all! But most of all, H&H. Hate with the passions of a thousand stars...or something.

Joe, can we end this day now? :P

Yea, go ahead and end this day now. I'm voting Lorriet and I don't intend to change it.

Might want to repost that vote; vote counter doesn't match on "voting".

Not that it really matters.

Gorillashaman, Cambler, excellent job. I knew you guys could do it. At long, long last, a Lover Victory.

Lorriet and all the other villagers, my apologies, but it had to be done.

This Game Was Full Of Teh Win!

Seriously, this was the most fun game yet.

I agree, but I doubt the villagers/wolves will :P

Now that the game is over...

I strongly DISLIKE the ability to vote-unvote to "prove" unloverness.

I think that rule sucks.

You shouldn't be allowed to have a vote for your lover be your final vote, but you SHOULD be able to bluff a vote. Perhaps a rule that states that if you vote for your lover and let it stand, you kill yourself from grief for having done such a thing for real.

But the ability to vote-unvote for EVERYONE to prove you're not a lover is really dumb.

After this game I don't think people are going to want to do the Lovers any favors at all :P

[info]cambler

July 30 2007, 18:32:42 UTC 4 years ago

Which bolsters my point.

Everyone does a vote-unvote on turn one, and the lovers are immediately outed.

It was a last ditch desperate effort for Daedalus and I. It didn't impact the outcome, and I don't see the value of it in anything but an endgame such as this.

I think the rule is fine as it stands, because it allows people...and wolves...the opportunity to use voting patterns to figure things out.

Before Daedalus had come out with his theory, I'd already guessed that you and gorillashaman were lovers based on voting patterns and a couple of comments here and there...I just had it backward who was the wolf. Had we figured that out one day earlier, this would have gone differently.

Woulda/coulda/shoulda.

Damn.

I don't think that needs to be changed.

Even in a game, I hate being lied to.

Yeah, I know it's part of it, but still.

Why couldn't you just eat me last night, Gorillashaman? You wanted to rub my nose in it, didn't you? Mean, mean, awful wolf.

p.s. Cambler, I'd be careful if I were you...I've been reading some Anita Blake novels, and sex with the Furry folks isn't all fun and games...

[info]cambler

July 30 2007, 18:32:10 UTC 4 years ago

Just remember that it *is* just a game, and lying is part of it.

[info]gorillashaman

July 30 2007, 18:36:25 UTC 4 years ago

That's the machiavellian bit I mentioned earlier. Some people will be upset at being lied to, even if it is just a game, or even if it is in their best interests.

July 30 2007, 18:40:01 UTC 4 years ago

Hehe, I know...it's just so....annoying! Especially given the accusations that I was too easily swayed (led around by the nose?). I'm just sharing my pre-lynch visceral reactions.

I really hate losing. Ask anyone who's played a game with me.

It's all in good fun...until someone throws the game pieces across the room. ;)

=)

I knew hungryandhollow was the cupid two days before he came out; he slipped up some text and used "cambler" when he meant "gorillashaman". Only the cupid would have made that slip.

Cambler practically screamed that he was the SORCERER somewhere around day 3 or 4.

[info]hungryandhollow

July 30 2007, 18:39:04 UTC 4 years ago

That was intentional - I was hoping you guys would catch on, but it seemed an innocuous enough slip that no one else would give it a second glance.

I think that clusterfuck with devil_engine really helped you, too. It made so little sense that no one knew what to do with it...nice red herring.
