Day 4

The clouds were thick the next morning. The village bell tolled mournfully in the pale light as the villagers one by one wandered into the center of town. [info]rustymaggot still hung by the rafters in the middle of the building. [info]blackbeardin comments, "You think someone should cut him down?"

As they looked around the room at the tired and weary faces of each other, [info]lorriet burst into the room, "It's [info]giantlaser! They ate him last night!"

"Also, where's [info]makellan?" asked [info]stride.

"There! He's being sequestered!" shouted out [info]cambler. And sure enough, [info]makellan was being led away in handcuffs.

SUMMARY: [info]giantlaser the VILLAGER is DEAD!

SUMMARY: [info]makellan is SEQUESTERED!

well I'm stumped.

[info]cambler

July 19 2007, 18:52:21 UTC 4 years ago

My quick vote yesterday was based on the fact that rustymaggot voted for evilben so quickly, I thought there was a chance that it was a quiet sign of SEERhood. I wanted to see if my quick agreeing vote would elicit any other clues.

Clearly I was wrong.

I thought I'd explain my logic before being thought suspicious.

[info]dragonattack

July 19 2007, 19:14:58 UTC 4 years ago

If he'd been the seer, he'd have stood up and told us what he knew before dying. Unless he was just being really surly by the end... Even though it wouldn't have been helpful, a few safe people in the village would have been a blessing.

[info]hungryandhollow

July 19 2007, 18:54:15 UTC 4 years ago

why giantlaser? he's barely said anything. wtf @ wolf killings this game.

[info]cuddlycthulhu

July 19 2007, 18:58:36 UTC 4 years ago

Totally agree with you on the wtf. Just about everyone who was a seriously suspicious person has been eaten, lynched, or given a Sicilian neck-tiel; you'd think the wolves would want those people around to distract them.

[info]lorriet

July 19 2007, 18:58:02 UTC 4 years ago

Hm, giantlaser suspected hungryandhollow, rustymaggot and makellan. Maybe the wolves thought he was a seer, because he got one (or maybe even two) right?

[info]hungryandhollow

July 19 2007, 19:01:38 UTC 4 years ago

i'm not a wolf, rustymaggot wasn't a wolf, and makellan is sequestered for the day. besides, that would seem a little ham-handed of the wolves, don't you think?

[info]dragonattack

July 19 2007, 19:03:46 UTC 4 years ago

Hell, I'll put myself out on the line.

VOTE EVILBEN

Almost everyone who's died thus far has pointed at him, and been a villager. It'd be rediculous to assume the wolves are killing people off to frame him, but I think I want to see if there's any credence there.

[info]dragonattack

July 19 2007, 19:07:58 UTC 4 years ago

That's worded poorly. Let me try again: I think that we have a few people (the dead villagers) who we know to not be trying to deceive us. Rusty's methods were very much against the spirit of the village, but maybe his hunches are right?

This is of course not a final vote for the day, by any stretch. But it's as good a place to start as any, I think...

Man, it was painful watching that train wreck yesterday guys.

That said, I think we have a decent amount of information, and it's time we start lynching the actual wolves.

vote hungryandhollow

Because I'm pretty sure he is one of the vocal wolves, and when he's gone another will have to step up.

Wolves rarely start a dogpile, they merely add to it. The second and third person to jump on were H&H and CC.

[info]hungryandhollow

July 19 2007, 19:24:37 UTC 4 years ago

I'm not a wolf. And you can't blame me for my willingness to lynch Rustymaggot. Hell, you'd have to lynch the whole village for that one.

One other thing. I'd like to open up a vote on whether or not we want to have a sherriff again. At this point, we've hit a place where anyone who could kill of their own volition is gone, except the werewolves. Nomination would be tricky, but that's a hurdle to be taken after people take stock of this idea. But I think that the power of the vote is the only thing we've got to defend us against the werewolves, and that we can find someone equitable to take the position. Me, I won't accept nominations, should people even like my logic at all. But I'm sure we could find someone...

[info]hungryandhollow

July 19 2007, 19:25:43 UTC 4 years ago

without anyone we're sure is a villager around yet, it's too risky. And with no witch, I'm guessing the sheriff gets eaten on his/her first night.

Ok. Apparently my lack of experience and my personal bias (I played an amazingly fun game as Sheriff at PolyCon25) are showing through, so I'll take the call for a vote off the table. If someone else thinks it's a good idea, you can be the ones to put it back. But for now, I'll just go vibrate in the corner, and poke buttons on the laptop.

[info]dragonattack

July 19 2007, 19:54:37 UTC 4 years ago

Just for clarity's sake. Vote for sherriff has been taken off table. Yay toplevel posting. And the inability to delete mistakes :D Yay sugar-rushes, also. Orange juice is tasty...

July 19 2007, 20:00:10 UTC 4 years ago

Oh, and as a side note: I'm going to leave the computer for a while, to go paint my room. i figure this is a better use of all of this energy than sitting here and being totally overly-verbose... I'll be back, and I think I'll apologize already for my exuberance today. Have fun all :D

[info]chessiekitty

July 19 2007, 20:22:23 UTC 4 years ago

H&H doesn't seem to be acting himself this time around.

Similarly, neither does gorillashaman. He started out posting like his normal self, but not yesterday.

I still don't trust daedalus.

I'm going back and rereading the last three day's posts. Maybe something will solidify.

[info]hungryandhollow

July 19 2007, 21:43:50 UTC 4 years ago

you mean today i'm not acting like myself, or this game in general? Either way, how so?

[info]evilben

July 19 2007, 20:31:08 UTC 4 years ago

I'm idealess. The only person I suspect is makellan, and he's in prison.

Now that I see Cambler's reasoning, I can't hold too much of a grudge.

No one else has triggered my MAP rule sensors, so I can't use that.

I'm thinking dragonattack because he voted for me, but at this point I should really look for a better reason to vote someone.

[info]baronlaw

July 19 2007, 20:34:46 UTC 4 years ago

To be honest Makellan was my primary target this round too. But with the sequestering I had to revert to my previous turns pick, Hungryandhollow.

I'll probly die for this (either by lynch or wolf kill, but EvilBen thinks he sees a dogpile!

Chessiekitty
Gorillashaman
Cambler

They all just jummped on baronlaw real fastlike. I'll forgo voting for now to wait for other thought/discussion.

Apparently I am the designated victim/scapegoat this round. Chessiekitty has pointed her claw and the rest of the wolves are jumping on board. Well and no doubt an innocent villager or two will get sucked in.

I should start composing my dying wish for you all to ignore. ;)

Since no logic is being used I find it hard to defend myself other then to say I have not voted for any of the people you have so far lynched, who by the way have all been villagers like myself. All I can do is stand behind my voting record so far.

[info]hungryandhollow

July 19 2007, 21:46:10 UTC 4 years ago

Grr @ my crappy connection that keeps making me lose my comments.

Ok, I agree, with the exception of Chessie. I suspected her early on, but something happened in the voting that changed my mind. I'll need to go back and look at it, though.

The speed with which the other two jumped on the bandwagon is suspicious. I'd figure at least one of them to be a furry, fanged beastie.

[info]lorriet

I find it very interesting that two people jumped so quickly when I voted for baronlaw. I mean, wow. Where were they when I voted Daedalus out of the blue, with no reason? Where was Daedalus, even.

Are they wolves jumping on the bandwagon with the goal to get me lynched when baronlaw turns out to be a villager (if he's lynched this round?). That seems almost too simple from seasoned, and I might add intelligent players. Are they desperately trying to get votes off of H&H, a fellow wolf?

unvote baronlaw

This will probably be seen as an attempt to draw suspicion off of me as the instigator of a "dogpile". It's not. But don't you think we got some tasty tidbits from my vote?

I really don't see a shred of evidence against me (unless you count Baronlaw's "Claim Game" accusation). If anyone has logical reasons to vote for me, please post them so I can rebut them. I am not a wolf, and all this jumping from dogpile victim to dogpile victim is tiresome.

I am leaving to pick up a friend from the airport. I will try my darndest to check in and re-asses my vote before the lynching.

Have fun all! Glad I stirred things up a bit, even if I didn't mean to!

[info]hungryandhollow

July 19 2007, 22:50:50 UTC 4 years ago

i'm so confused. But I'm going to go with Chessiekitty because:

- she's voting for me
- she started a dogpile, then immediately switched votes when attention was drawn to the dogpile
- i have no idea who else to vote for

[info]hungryandhollow

July 19 2007, 22:52:51 UTC 4 years ago

oops, forgot to say vote chessiekitty

I'm also very suspicious of Cambler's complete change of playstyle, but i really havn't seen much other evidence, so i'll give him benefit of the doubt for now.

[info]chessiekitty

July 20 2007, 03:45:27 UTC 4 years ago

Ok- as someone who has both played many times before, and played with me many times before, you should know that I know better than that. I made a vote, based on gut feeling, like I did with Daedalus, but today instead of being ignored, a couple of people followed me. That's all. I switched because I think my vote brought out some interesting comments by several people.

And I have stated that I've been suspicious of you in past posts.
